Iranian apple enters a new market

The Chinese market opens for Iranian apples. This was announced last week by Iran’s Agriculture Minister Javad Sadatinejad, according to Iranian media.

The opening came after Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi visited China for further negotiations on the issue of agricultural cooperation between the two countries.

The minister specified that the first phase of the agreement provides for some 100,000 tons of apples exported to this Asian country.

According to Javad Sadatinejad, Iran’s agri-food exports to China totaled about $350 million in the 10 months to the end of January, which is 5 times higher than the export figures recorded 4 years ago.
